The fun has begun......

This past weekend TJ and I headed out to Fontana, CA to do the PRO XC opener. We arrived to some nice temps in the 80s and some course changes that brought the Mountain back into Mountain Biking!! The big climb of the day had us ascending for about 5 minutes with grades greater than 30% at some sections forcing even the best off their bikes to push over the hump. All in all it was a good day for the Adventure 212/Specialized team with TJ having a nice clean run to finish 31st on the day and myself finishing in 47th. Both of us are happy with our early season form and with the bikes now dialed in, customized by a couple crashes(on my part), we are now looking forward to Sea Otter!

Bring On the Season......

I cannot believe that the 2009 season is about to start! There is still snow on the ground and todays ride was done with a 20 mph wind and temps in the upper 30's. On a plus note the first race will be the Fontana National in Cali so hopefully it will be short sleeve jersey weather. That will play in my favor with the bright pasty white legs and arms should blind the comp and maybe give me a couple spots??

From the Adveture 212 Team it is TJ and I headed. We get in on Friday with me flying into Orange County and TJ making the drive over from sunny Tuscon. Will be nice to travel with the new team mate and maybe some of his laid back nature will rub off on me for everyones elses sake!

On the bike front the bike is assembled and almost ready to go. I need to get a laid back seatpost to get me in the right position but other than that I feel very comfortable on it and should not require much of a learning curve.

Thanks Pete and Bill from Specialized for doin backflips to get me a bike!! See everyone in Cali!
